The Generation 2 Limited Edition High Elven King Sword - this battle ready sharp sword is an original design, conceived by the designers at Arms of Valor, Ltd. and put to canvas by award winning artist Tania Diotalevi Hodges. Comes with FREE signed collector's print!

Our new and improved design is hand forged by Generation 2! It is extremely battle ready with a high carbon spring steel blade that is RAZOR SHARP! The hilt features a solid brass pommel and crossguard with a hard wood handle wrapped in leather. The full tang runs through the pommel and is peened (hammered flat) as was the practice with historical swords. Sword construction does not get much better than this! A wooden scabbard covered with leather and brass metal throat and end caps is included. This amazing sword has also been chosen as the Official Sword of WaroftheRing.net.

Generation 2 battle-ready swords are made of 3/16" high carbon spring steel with a full hefty tang. The pommels and cross guards are made from polished solid steel or brass. These swords have been thoroughly tested in both cutting 2"x4" wood boards and in live steel combat (hit blade on blade) without breaking or bending!

Overall length: 48 inches
Blade length: 38 inches
Weight: 4 Pounds
Balance Point: 6 inches from crossguard

High Elf King's Sword

All FREE copies of “The Silmarillion” by J.R.R. Tolkien have been allocated. - The tales of "The Silmarillion" were the underlying inspiration and source of Tolkien's imaginative writing; he worked on the book throughout his life, but never brought it to a final form. Long proceeding in its origins "The Lord of the Rings," it is the story of the First Age of Tolkien's world, the ancient drama to which characters in "The Lord of the Rings" look back, and in which some of them, such as Elrond and Galadriel, took part.

"The Silmarillion" is the history of the rebellion of Fëanor and his people against the gods, their exile in Middle-earth, and their war, hopeless despite all the heroism of Elves and Men, against the great Enemy. Among the stories told is the story of the great High Elf King Fingolfin and his bravery as he challenged Morgoth (the Dark Lord) to single combat. In vivid detail you can read the accounts of his deeds as well as those of many other heroes of middle earth.

“Ringil the sword of Fingolfin, said to have glittered like ice. With it he wounded Morgoth in single combat after the Dagor Bragollach(Battle of Sudden Flame)”

After the great battle of “Dagor Bragollach”……………..”Fingolfin beheld, as it seemed to him, the utter ruin of his people, and the defeat beyond redress of all their houses. Therefore he did his silver arms and took his white helm and his sword Ringil and his blue shield set with a star of crystal, and mounting upon Rochallor he rode alone to Angband’s gate and challenged Morgoth to come forth and Morgoth came though he was afraid of the duel. Now Morgoth swung his hammer Grond down like a bolt of thunder but each time Fingolfin leaped away and seven times he wounded Morgoth with Ringil, but at last Fingolfin grew weary and Morgoth bore down his shield upon him, three times was Fingolfin crushed to his knees and three times he got up again but the last time he stumbled and fell backwards and Morgoth set his foot upon Fingolfin’s neck and there the High-King of Elves died but with his last strength he stroke Ringil into the foot of Morgoth.”

Note: Dagor Bragollach - For more than four centuries, the forces of the Noldor had besieged Morgoth in his northern fortress of Angband, holding the northern mountain fences of Beleriand and their passes against his forces. In I 455 Morgoth broke the Siege of Angband in the battle that came to be known as the Dagor Bragollach, the Battle of Sudden Flame.
