Frontiersman's Long Knife - This type of long knife was sometimes called a rifleman's knife since it was carried by the civilians that fought for independence. Though they were large as a fighting knife, they were also used on a daily basis to perform the countless camp chores that living in the field brought. An important early cousin of the bowie and Arkansas toothpick. Perfect for the collector of American knives. High carbon well-tempered blade.
It is made from tempered 5160 carbon steel. Has a full tang that is peened over top of the end cap of the handle. A period scabbard is also included.
