became ‘c’]

Written in the Angerthas in
the Quenya language of the High Elves, the inscription along the blade
reads: "Sun - I am the flame of the west that ‘was’
Narsil the sword of Elendil, they will flee from me the slaves of Mordor
- Moon". Perhaps Angerthas Eregion is used here representing Quenya
to acknowledge Telchar of Nogrod, Narsil's original Dwarvish smith)
After the blade of Narsil was
broken and its light was extinguished, Elrond of Rivendell foretold
that it would be reforged at the finding of the Ruling Ring and the
return of Sauron. It was forged again by Elvish smiths before
the forming of of the Fellowship on yule, its blade bore a device of
seven stars between a sun and a moon. Aragorn Ellesar gave the sword
a new name - Andúril, Flame of the West.
Aragorn rode with Andúril
into the battle of Pelennor fields outside Minas Tirith.
"Andúril rose and
fell, gleaming with white fire. A shout went up from wall and tower"
'Andúril! Andúril goes to war. The blade that was broken
shines again"
- The Two Towers
- Helms Deep.
"But before all went Aragorn with the Flame of
the West, Andùril like a new fire kindled", Narsil reforged
as deadly as of old; and upon his brow was the star of Elendil"
- The Return of the King - The Battle
of the Pelennor Fields
